Our Story

To put it simply, we’re a family, and we have been attending the Running of the Bulls festival, or Los Sanfermines, since 1975.

Our family is originally from New Orleans - home to the world-famous street party of Mardi Gras - so the spirit of fiesta has always been in our blood. Our grandfather’s lifelong dream was to celebrate the Running of the Bulls festival in Spain. He read about the festival in his encyclopedia, and he shared his dream with his daughter - our mother - when she was just a child. Sadly, he never had the chance to come to Los Sanfermines, but his dream has been fulfilled through each of us.

Our mom first started coming to the festival in 1975 during her study abroad year in Spain - the very first year any women ran in the encierro, and the first year women fought as matadors. She returned to Los Sanfermines just about every year since that first fiesta, and in 2007 she decided to share her passion for fiesta with the world by starting her own travel company - BullBalcony. Flash forward to today, and we’re a kick-ass team made up of my mom and her five kids: all 20-somethings who have been to Pamplona for Los Sanfermines every year for as long as we can remember.

From our many years of festival-going, as well as nearly twenty years of sharing the fiesta with wonderful people like you through our company, we know this city like the back of our hands. We’ll get you access to the best of the best of Pamplona: bullfight tickets, balcony spots, bull running tours, and so much more.
